Sport BTEC National Subsidiary Diploma

This BTEC in Sport is equivalent to one A-level. Small classes and individual tuition are important ingredients in this course.

Course of Study and Contents

The BTEC National Subsidiary diploma course consists of 7 units, 4 of which are Mandatory (M) and 3 are Optional (O). The course is entirely assignment based. There is no end of year formal examination.

  • Unit 1 Principle of Anatomy Physiology in Sport (M)
  • Unit 2 The Physiology of Fitness (M)
  • Unit 3 Assessing Risk in Sport (M)
  • Unit 7 Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise (M)
  • Unit 9 Practical Individual Sports (O)
  • Unit 14 Exercise, Health and Lifestyle (O)
  • Unit 15 Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise (O)

The Optional units can be altered to suit students' preferences.

Through a variety of lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and projects.

How is this course assessed?

Entirely by assignments which are internally marked and verified, then externally moderated.
