ISA Art Award Winners Again

ISA Art Award Winners Again

Young artists at The Park School were celebrating multiple successes again at the regional ISA Art Competition last week.

Year 11, Danisha won first prize in the Key Stage 4 category for her Pheasant, a piece on the theme of ‘Fragments’ made with real pheasant feathers. In Y13, Joni won first place in the Key Stage 4 textiles category with her artwork ‘Flowers’ inspired by Oriental art using mixed media textiles and print-making techniques.

In Key Stage 3 the School is also celebrating some runner-up awards: Year 8 Lucy’s Cubist-style painting of a tree in the School’s grounds, Charlotte’s ‘Reflections’ textile piece based on water reflections in a pond, and a group Oceanic art project by Lily, Abigail and Laura of an authentic Polynesian costume were all awarded runner-up places.

Mrs Briggs, Head of Art, congratulated the students, “Congratulations to everyone who submitted artwork again this year. We took some incredibly good entries and the competition standard was, as always, very high. The students should be very proud of the quality of their work.”

The two winners will go to the National final in November.

Released On 10th May 2019
