How to Apply
We welcome applications to join The Park School from any year group or at any time of the academic year subject to availability of places.
Choosing the right school is an important decision so it is a good idea to visit us, with or without your son or daughter in the first instance, when you can see our school in action on a real day and meet Jane Huntington, The Head. Or you may wish to come to one of our Open Mornings.
We encourage your son or daughter to attend a follow-up 'Taster Day' after their first visit, so they can discover what a day feels like at The Park School and it also gives teachers the opportunity to get to know them a little and to understand their abilities and needs within the context of the peer group.
Pre-Prep School Entry (Reception, Year 1 & 2)
Children who are 4 years of age on or before 31st August of the previous academic year are welcome to join our Reception class at the start of the autumn term or throughout the year.
Prep & Senior School Entry (Prep Year 3-6 and Senior -Year 7-11)
Following an initial visit, we encourage all prospective pupils to attend a Taster Day (and overnight for boarding pupils) where they can join their current year group to meet their peers, experience lessons and extra-curricular activities. The Taster Day experience gives both the teacher and pupils an opportunity to get to know each other, and together with their most recent school reports, this will form the basis of a decision to offer a place.
Applications for entry in September
We ask that applications are received and Taster Days completed by 1st March of the year of entry, at which point an enrolment fee will be requested to secure your child’s place. Applications received after the 1st March are very welcome but will be subject to availability and immediate payment of the enrolment fee.
All new pupils are invited to Moving-Up Day, usually in the June prior to the September entry so they can experience firsthand a day in their new class and/or school.
Sixth Form Applications
Sixth Form students are required to be predicted to achieve (or to have already achieved) at least five level 4-9 grades at GCSE to qualify for entry, with at least grade 6 attained in their chosen A Level subjects (where appropriate). Candidates are invited to attend an interview with the Head and references are followed up from their current school. There is no additional entrance examination.
We encourage those with high academic potential to sit our 16+ Scholarship Award in the November prior to the September entry. Candidates must nominate two subjects they wish to study at A Level. Find out more about our Scholarships & Awards.
In-Year School Admissions
We are delighted to receive new pupil enquiries throughout the school year at any time. We endeavour to process your enquiry quickly and assist visits and transitions wherever possible subject to places being available.
