Roy Moody - Chair

  • Licensed Reader in Church of England
  • Past Master of Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers in the City of London

Ron Martin

As well as being a governor, Ron is also our School Chaplain. He spent his early working life in the Merchant Navy and the Royal Navy. When he was accepted for training for the ministry he completed an honours degree in Theology and Religious Studies at Bristol University.

He was ordained in 1993 and after a few years of working for the Church in Bristol, where he also served as a University chaplain, he was commissioned to serve as a chaplain in the Royal Navy. He retired from this role in 2011 and is currently the Head of Chaplaincy Services at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, where he is also a governor.

Ron is an Associate Priest at Sherborne Abbey and a tutor for Sarum Theological College in Salisbury. He is married to Alice and they live in Sherborne with their twin girls, Matilda and Daisy, who attend The Park School.

Frances Wilson

  • Education: University College London, B Sc hons (Physics), Whitelands College, PGCE
  • Career: Teacher, Milham Ford School Oxford (1976-78), Hollybank School Chester (1991-95). Various part time and voluntary posts from preschool, through primary, secondary and adult education on the Wirral. (1995-2004)
  • Other Experience: Led children's groups in churches and run after school clubs over the last 40 years.
  • Married to a Church of England minister, now retired with three children and six grandchildren.

Neil Baker (Cert. Ed., Careers Dip.)

  • Education: Bishop Otter College  -  Certificate of Education (QTS), Kent College for the Careers Service - Careers Diploma
  • Career:  Barclays Bank Peckham 1969-70. Primary School Teacher S.E. London 1970-73. Trainee Careers Adviser 1973-74, Swanley, Kent. Careers Adviser, ILEA 1974-85 (some Special Needs). Careers Adviser, Somerset 1985-2006 (some Special Needs and some Higher Education specialism).
  • Other Experience: Currently retired doing voluntary work in the community.  Member of Yeovil Community Church.  Much experience of youth work in the past.

Keith Stevens

  • Education: Royal Holloway College, University of London; subject – Mathematics; University of Manchester; subject - Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW).
  • Career: Teaching and Boarding Parent at Chetham's School of Music; Probation Service in Manchester and Somerset; Teaching and Boarding Parent at The Park School - present day Retired.
  • Licensed Reader in Church of England.

Diane Kershaw

  • Education: University of Birmingham BA (Hons) English Language and Literature; University of Manchester (Postgraduate Certificate of Education); University of Bristol MEd (Management and Administration of secondary schools)
  • Career: Teaching 1971-2001 including Deputy Headteacher The Park School, Yeovil 1988-1997; Headteacher Westwing School, Thornbury 1997-2001
  • Education Management 2001-2008 Somerset County Council
  • Other experience: Northern Examination and Assessment Board Examiner and Chief Moderator (South West) for English GCSE
  • Yeovil Community Church Chair of trustees

Idris Leslie Whittle

  • Education: Ealing Technical College, Ealing Art School.
  • Career: Served 4 year apprenticeship as Technical and Fine Art Photographer. Worked for George Wimpey Co in the UK, Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar. Full time volunteer in Hong Kong working with various Christian organizations serving; Vietnamese refugees, local drug addicts, teenage unwed mothers and Chinese orphans in Xinjiang Province. Employed as Executive Director in Hong Kong and Mainland China for an American Christian child welfare and adoption organization facilitating the adoption of Chinese orphans to American families.
  • Relocated back to the UK in January 2013 and now working as a freelance photographer.
  • Worshipping and serving in various volunteer positions at St Johns Church in Yeovil.
