S.E.N. (Special Educational Needs)
The aim of the Special Needs department in the Secondary School is to help each student reach their potential. We work closely with students, subject teachers, form tutors and parents/careers to help each child overcome any difficulties and become positive, confident achievers.By liasing with previous schools we try to ensure a smooth transition. Individual Education Plans and other information is distributed to teaching staff to make them aware of those students who may experience difficulties in the classroom or with homework.
External assessment and individual lessons with staff holding specialist qualifications in literacy difficulties can be arranged through the Special Educational Needs Coordinator who also undertakes the process of applying for Special Provision in public examinations is in conjunction with the Examination Officer.
By partnership, individual counselling, differentiated curriculum access and The Park Schools commitment to having small teaching groups we strive to bring academic success, and personal confidence to each student we work with.
