Park School Crest

The Park School

Boarding House

It is possible to board at The Park School from the age of eight years old. Most students board full time, but some are weekly boarders and other pupils stay over on an occasional basis. Approximately thirty boarders stay at the school in purpose built accommodation. The students are cared for by a resident house mother as well as a number of boarding assistants.

The older students have their own room which allows for personal study time. Some of the younger pupils share a room with their friends.

During the week, the pupils join the other day students for lessons but at weekends, the fun really starts!
Saturday mornings are often spent playing sports supervised by the Head of P.E. Mr Larry Tulett. In the afternoon, there is often a trip out, maybe to the shops or to the Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, the cinema, bowling, Weymouth Beach and other local places of interest.

Sometimes visits are made further afield to Crealy Adventure Park or Moors Valley Country Park so that there is an opportunity for orienteering cycling or simply strolling through the picturesque landscape. The students have also visited London to worship at the Hillsongs Church and see the Christmas lights.

Some weekends the pressure of work is too much so these are nominated as 'Family Chill Outs' where the boarders stay together for a BBQ or outdoor games. It is the wish of all the boarding house staff that all the children who live here consider 'The Park School' as their home.
