Boarding House

Boarding is available for girls and boys from the age of 8 on a full, weekly or occasional basis.  Most senior pupils and sixth form students have their own rooms.  The atmosphere in the boarding house is happy and relaxed, with boarders enjoying being part of the school's extended family.  The Park is mainly a day school, and therefore this makes the atmosphere in the boarding house rather unique.  There are usually 30 pupils/students living in this purpose built accommodation.. Boarding staff (pictured below) include a resident house parent and assistants.  At weekends there are many activities to choose from including a variety of sports and visits to various places, life as a boarder at the weekend is described below this picture......read on.......

Boarding on a Saturday and Sunday tends to be a family affair where the atmosphere is relaxed and time is spent recuperating from the studies of the week just passed.

The day often begins with a morning of sport, usually within the school grounds, although occasionally we do venture to Mudford Recreation Ground.  On these days the afternoon generally sees a trip out, this are very varied and can range from a simple shopping spree at Clarks Village in Street to more exotic places such as:  The Octagon Theatre, The Cinema, Bowlplex, Weymouth Beach, Ham Hill Country Park, Moscow State Circus – when it visited Taunton, The Christian Book Shop whilst it was docked in Portland!

On other occasions we go on a whole day trip to places such as Crealy Park, Moors Valley Country Park – where the children can go orienteering, cycling, have a ride on the miniature railway, partake in the tree top obstacle course or just simply walk through the woodland.  Sometimes we go to the beach at Bournemouth or Lyme Regis, visit Bristol Ice Skating Rink, and go to Cribbs Causeway.

In the near future trips are planed to London to visit Madame Tussauds, the Hippodrome in Bristol to watch Beauty and the Beast on Ice, Cadbury's Chocolate Factory in Birmingham and many others.

There are days when we just simply stay in and chill, or perhaps have a BBQ and hire in Gladiators fun bouncy castle type games.  Whatever we do the day, plainly put is, 'Family Day'!  After all the boarding community is one big happy family.
