HIGHWAY WORKS IN THE PARK

Somerset Highways will be carrying out Footway Works in the Park on 23^rd - 27^th June.  They have requested that people refrain from parking in the street whilst  works are undertaken.

Intensive rehearsal period begins.

Friday 4^th July 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This will be a rehearsal day for all in Bugsy Malone.  All cast, band members and crew must be in school.

BOOK FAIR

Once again, the ever-popular Travelling Book Fair will be visiting the Junior Department.  A wide range of best-sellers and top new titles to suit all tastes and ages (3-11+}) as well as a selection of attractive stationery, will be on offer.  Purchases may be made after school from Friday 20^th June – Thursday 26^th June.

RETURN OF CUPS

Would all those pupils who were awarded cups in last year's speech day, please return them to the office before the end of term.

NEW MEMBERS OF STAFF

The following members of staff have been appointed as from September 2008:-

Mrs Brenda Rabson will be the new Peripatetic Special Needs teacher.  Mrs Rabson will be contacting the parents of children who are presently taught by Mrs Beable, in the near future.

Mr Philip Warr will be the new RE/Philosophy teacher.

Mrs Nanette Archer will be the new Psychology teacher.

We are very pleased with these appointments and I feel sure they will quickly settle into life at The Park School.

PTA FAMILY FUN EVENING –

27^TH JUNE 2008

Our annual summer fundraising event is to take place on Friday 27^th June from 6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. on the Junior Site.  Tickets are now on sale £3 per adult and £1.50 per child.  This will include food and a drink.  Tickets are available from the Junior School office or Dan Winchilsea (Toby's and Sebastian's dad) in the Junior school playground. We have arranged for live music, BBQ, Bar, fun and games for all ages.  There will also be a sale of second-hand uniform on the evening. Please come and support what we are sure will be an excellent evening.

PHYSICS REVISION SESSION

There will be a final Physics revision session for all Year 11 on Monday 16^th June from 14.00 – 16.00 hrs in the Physics Laboratory.

SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS

Coming to the end of the academic year it has been noted that there are many Key Stage 3 textbooks missing from the shelves in the Laboratory.  Please could all pupils in Years 7-9 check carefully at home and return any books accidentally borrowed, as soon as possible.  As Year 10 finish their GCSE module exams they need to return their green Science Higher textbook to a member of the Science Department.  All books must be returned before we can issue textbooks needed for the Year 11 modules.
