CAROL SERVICE

Our Carol Service will be held on the 14^th December at 2 0'clock at St. John's Church.

All parents and friends are very welcome to attend.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE

The PTA would like to thank all Staff, Parents and Pupils who helped make this years Christmas Fayre a huge success.  A great time was had by all and early reports show a profit of over £760.

The Headmaster would like to thank, on behalf of the school, the PTA, for all the work and the effort that they have put in during the course, of what has been a very successful year for them.  Their efforts are greatly appreciated.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – WEDNESDAY 12^TH DECEMBER 

This event will take place in the School Hall between 8 and 9 a.m.  This is an event for Junior School pupils, their parents and friends.  A breakfast of muffins and hot/cold drinks will be provided, along with a visit and gift from Santa for each child.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets are on sale from the Junior office £2 per child and £1 per adult.  To assist with our catering, please purchase your tickets on or before Monday 10^th December.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Thank you to everyone who donated and/or purchased second hand school uniform at the Christmas Fayre.  It was a great success, raising £98.50 for the Parents Association.  I shall be running this again during 'Breakfast with Santa'.  I am still collecting second hand uniform, especially skirts, jackets, ties, jumpers and PE kit – please pass it on to either myself or any of the Houghtons in school.

CHRISTMAS TABLE TOP DECORATION COMPETITION

Any child may enter a decoration, not more than 35 cm high for this competition.  All entries to be brought into school by Tuesday 11^th December.  The judging will take place during Santa's breakfast.  There is a prize for each year group.

TESCO SPORTS TOKENS REMINDER

Tesco's have stopped issuing sports tokens but they are still accepting them, so if you have any tokens could you please send them into the school by the end of term.

NESTLE/DORLING KINGSLEY BOOK TOKENS

Please search out those last few tokens from the cereal boxes and bring to School.  They need to be sent off next Monday at the latest to gain points towards our total for purchasing new books.  The Boxes for the tokens are in the Junior Department.

CHOCOLATE CAFÉ SUCCESS

Thank you to everyone who supported the Chocolate Café this week and congratulations to 7S who raised almost £90 in 20 minutes!  The money will go to Christian Aid to help support an African family with animals, to help them earn their living.  The café selling hot chocolate, chocolate fountains, brownies, crispy cakes and other assorted goodies followed 7S's assembly with the theme 'chocolate'.  The assembly included a competition to count how many references to chocolate occurred during the course of it.  Congratulations to Year 5, the winners, whose guess was closest to the correct number of 105.  Well done to them and to 7S for a great effort.

 STAFFING

Many of you will be aware that at the end of next week, two long standing members of staff will be both retiring.  Mr Michael Peevor has been the Bursar of the school for the last thirteen years and Mrs Carole Owen has been a teacher in the Junior Department for over 16 years.  We wish them all the very best, and God's richest blessing for their futures.  May they have a long and happy retirement.

QUIZ EVENING – SATURDAY 2^ND FEBRUARY 2008.  SCHOOL HALL: 7 P.M.

This entertaining evening will be hosted by our Quiz Master Mr K Stevens.  An evening comprising of rounds of assorted questions covering topics from pop music, TV programmes, current affairs and much more!  It is an evening suitable for the WHOLE family, a light supper will be included in the ticket price.  Please bring your own drinks as desired.  Teams are of up to six people, you can always bring two teams or even make up a team on the night.  Please complete the slip below to book your place £3.50 per adult and £1.50 per child.
