The meal will be at approximately 8.30/8.45pm.

DEBATING CLUB

The election campaign which has dominated public discourse at The Park since the beginning of term has been a major preoccupation of many Club members, absorbing their spare time and energy.   All bar one of the nine election candidates are active Club members, as are many of their campaign teams, so the Club suspended its activities for the duration of the campaign.   Next week things will be back to normal and we will meet at the usual time and place: 4-5pm in the Drama Room on Wednesday 12th May.

In the meantime you may be interested in two items you can find on line.   On The Park School website (http://www.parkschool.com) there is a report on last term's meetings, including the Oxford Union and Park Debating Days.   On the BBC Radio 4 website (or iPlayer) you can listen to  Devil's Advocate (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s8ymc).   In this new debating programme two public figures argue against what they truly believe.

SPORTS REPORT WEEK ENDING 7th MAY

Tuesday 4th May u11 & u13 Swimming 'v' Thornlow Prep

With some swimmers unable to attend this event we had to adjust our team. At the end of the individual swims we were 9 points adrift, going into the relays.  The team selection was spot on, however, we easily won all four races.  Alas this late charge was not quite enough to win, so now the score is one gala each and we are preparing to retake the lead next year.  Swimmer of the match – Emily Bentham

Wednesday 5th May u13 'A' & 'B' Rounders 'v' Chilton Cantelo

Both teams acquitted themselves well with Chilton just having the edge in both matches.

Wednesday 5th May u13 Cricket 'v' Chilton Cantelo

Chilton, with two Somerset players, were the victors on this occasion.  Player of the match – Christopher Burrows.

Next fixture Saturday 8th May Somerset AA Athletics.

Any queries regarding fixtures should be directed to Mr Tulett – PE Office 01963 414613 or by email to larry.tulett@parkschool.com
