Please note the School Uniform Shop will be open at the following times:-

Friday, 3^rd July - 2.30pm to 4pm due to Summer BBQ

Tuesday, 7^th July – 3pm to 4.30pm

Friday, 10^th July – Closed – End of Term

We will be open during the School Holiday on:-

Tuesday, 1^st September – 3pm to 6pm

RETURN OF CUPS

Would all those pupils who were awarded cups in last year's speech day, please return them to the office before the end of term. Thank you.

PROMPT SETTLEMENT DISCOUNT

Thank you to all those parents who settled their summer fees on the first day of term and who accordingly were entitled to deduct the 1% prompt settlement discount.

All cheques and online payments received after the first day of the Autumn Term (Tuesday, 8^th September) should not have the discount deducted.

For those parents who choose to pay by online banking it is important to authorise payment not less that 4 complete working days before the start of term, ie.,  to be sent by Wednesday, 2^nd September to arrive in the school's bank account by Tuesday, 8^th September  in order to qualify for the discount.

SUMMER BBQ FRIDAY 3^RD JULY 6.00 P.M.

This year's BBQ is shaping up to be the best yet!  We have BBQ, Bar, Hog Roast, Stalls, Tug of War, Stocks, Human Fruit Machine, fun and games for everyone.  Family admission tickets £2 (£3 on the night) are now available from Dan in the Junior playground and Donna in the Uniform Shop.  Please come along to a fun social event which will also support your PTA.  This is a WHOLE school event so please feel free to bring family and friends – the more the merrier!!    Many thanks.

HOUSE OF COMMONS TRIP

I plan to take a group of Park School students, by coach, to the House of Commons on Wednesday, 18^th November, 2009.  The cost will be £12 per student.  There will be a tour of parliament and two students will have the opportunity to attend Prime Minister's Question Time.  If all goes well, after that we will meet David Laws (Yeovil MP) who will answer questions and show us a little bit more of Parliament.  There should be an opportunity for shopping before returning home.  If your child is interested please send a post dated cheque for £12 for 1^st  September in an envelope with a brief accompanying letter marked for the attention of Mr S B Baker.  This trip is for all Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 (as at September 2009).

POETRY COMPETITION

Poetry Competition open to all years and abilities.  Could students please write a short poem or sonnet based on 'The Park School'.

The winning entry will be published in the next school magazine.

LATE ROOM

School finishes Friday, 10^th July at

12 noon.  Children should be collected at 12.  There are no lunches available and there will be no Late Room on the day.

FUTURE DATES

School Play (Blood Brothers) is being held on the 6^th, 7^th and 8^th July, 2009.  Time 7 for 7.30pm.  Tickets  :  Adults £5 and Children £3.  We do anticipate that the 8^th July will be the busiest evening.  Tickets are available on the door on a first come first served basis.

Junior Prize Giving is being held 2pm on the 9^th July, 2009.

School finishes 12 noon on the 10^th July, 2009.

School re-opens Year 7's ONLY 2pm on Monday, 7^th September, 2009.

School re-opens for ALL OTHER PUPILS on Tuesday, 8^th September, 2009, at 8.30am.
