ART – SHEEP PROJECT

Years 7 & 8 have created designs for two wooden sheep to become part of an installation of sheep from local schools.  The sheep will be going to Stoberry Park, Wells and will be part of a three day music and arts event called "Art in the Garden" which will be documented by the BBC.  Winning designs were created by:-

Pupils will be attending a tea party with other schools on Friday 25th May.  Congratulations to the winning pupils!  A big thank you to Mrs Wiles for judging the sheep.

 

INTERHOUSE ART COMPETITION

GCSE /AS and A Level Art Exhibition

Artwork will go up in the foyer and sixth form after half term the week of 4th June.  Pupils will need to make an appointment with Mrs Briggs to put up their work.  AS/A Level work goes up the week of 11th June.  The private viewing for family and friends will take place on Wednesday 13th June 6.30 – 8.30 p.m.  Invitations will be sent after half term. Congratulations to all pupils who have worked so hard on their art exams this year.

KIDS' WEEK

To celebrate its 10th birthday, Kids' Week 2007 is planning an exciting fortnight of shows, activities and free events in London's West End from 17 – 31 August.  They have special ticket deals for children.  One child (5-16 yrs) free with one full-paying adult and another two children can go for half price.  Bookings open in July.  For more information please visit www.kidsweek.co.uk

 

 

PTA FAMILY FUN EVENING

This fundraising event is to take place on Friday 29th June from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on the Junior site.  There will be a B.B.Q. and Bar, Icecream and Games, fun for all the family.  There is also to be an 'It's a Knockout' style  competition for teams of 4 people.  Tickets are now on sale, £2 per family for an advance ticket or £3 on the night.  These are available from the Junior and Senior offices.

 

ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME FOR YEARS 11 AND 12

The programme of post examination activities begins on Thursday June 28th and ends on Thursday July 12th (Term ends on July 13th).  Full details of the activities on offer will be published after half-term.  The activities are not compulsory, but it is hoped that the programme is sufficiently broad for most students.

TWELFTH NIGHT

On 10th or 11th of July (date depending on the weather) the Park School Drama Club will be presenting "Twelfth Night" in the Senior school grounds.  Doors open at 6.00 p.m.  Champagne cocktails on arrival.  Bring your own picnic, enjoy the music, merriment and hilarity of this marvellous production.

SCHOOL EXAMS

These begin on Wednesday June 13th.  Each class will have their timetable given to them immediately after half-term.  In the meantime, parents are asked to support their child by supervising suitable periods of revision.
