CREWKERNE CHILDREN'S MINI TRIATHLON Sunday July 5th at Crewkerne Aqua Centre The school has been sent publicity for this event for children between 8-14 years of age. Details may be found at www.tribor.org
SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOP Please note the School Uniform Shop will be open at the following times:-
Tuesday, 23rd June - 3 to 4.30 Friday, 26th June - closed 'in service day'
Tuesday, 30th June - 3 to 4.30 Friday, 3rd July - 2.30 to 4 due to Summer BBQ
Tuesday, 7th July – 3 to 4.30 Friday, 10th July – Closed – End of Term

RETURN OF CUPS Would all those pupils who were awarded cups in last year's speech day, please return them to the office before the end of term. Thank you.
PROMPT SETTLEMENT DISCOUNTThank you to all those parents who settled their summer fees on the first day of term and who accordingly were entitled to deduct the 1% prompt settlement discount.
All cheques and online payments received after the first day of the Autumn Term (Tuesday, 8th September) should not have the discount deducted.
For those parents who choose to pay by online banking it is important to authorise payment not less that 4 complete working days before the start of term, ie., to be sent by Wednesday, 2nd September to arrive in the school's bank account by Tuesday, 8th September in order to qualify for the discount.
For online payments the school's bank details are: Lloyds TSB Sort Code 30-99-98 A/C No 00083388
Online payments must quote the pupil/parent code as shown on your invoice.
Where pupils are entrusted to hand payments into school, please ensure that they deposit them with office staff before the end of school on the first day of term in order to qualify for the discount.

SUMMER BBQ FRIDAY 3RD JULY 6.00 P.M. This year's BBQ is shaping up to be the best yet! We have BBQ, Bar, Hog Roast, Stalls, Tug of War, Stocks, Human Fruit Machine, fun and games for everyone. Family admission tickets £2 (£3 on the night) are now available from Dan in the Junior playground and Donna in the Uniform Shop. Please come along to a fun social event which will also support your PTA. This is a WHOLE school event so please feel free to bring family and friends – the more the merrier!! Many thanks. HOUSE OF COMMONS TRIPI plan to take a group of Park School students, by coach, to the House of Commons on Wednesday, 18th November, 2009. The cost will be £12 per student. There will be a tour of parliament and two students will have the opportunity to attend Prime Minister's Question Time. If all goes well, after that we will meet David Laws (Yeovil MP) who will answer questions and show us a little bit more of Parliament. There should be an opportunity for shopping before returning home. If your child is interested please send a post dated cheque for £12 for 1st September in an envelope with a brief accompanying letter marked for the attention of Mr S B Baker. This trip is for all Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 (as at September 2009).
POETRY COMPETITION Poetry Competition open to all years and abilities. Could students please write a short poem or sonnet based on 'The Park School'.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Mrs Helliar is retiring from teaching the flute and has been associated with The Park School for 25 years and we warmly acknowledge her contribution to music in our school.
Miss Nancy Bowles will be replacing her for flute instruction and we are fortunate to acquire her services for September. Mr Gentis, Head of Music
SAILING REPORT On Monday, a group of six sailors, with some supporters, raced to victory in a sailing match against Thornlow Prep School. The match was held at Castle Cove Sailing Club in Portland Harbour. After some exceptional races from Ross McFarlane and William Hough, the team won by an amazing twelve points.
