INTERHOUSE ART COMPETITION

Please keep your entries for the competition coming in to Mrs Briggs.  The theme is 'my favourite things', any media is allowed, preferably 2D due to display.  The smaller size is A3, largest A2.  House points can be won for entry and for winners.  A local artist Peter Hailey will be judging the entries during the week of 11^th June – the deadline for entries is the 4^th June (after half-term).  The entries  will be displayed in the Art Room.

ART SESSIONS AFTER SCHOOL

After school I will be running sessions 4.00 – 5.00 p.m. for GCSE/AS & A Level students next week, Tuesday 15^th and Thursday 17^th May in order to complete exam prep and coursework.

REQUEST FROM THE ART DEPT.

If anyone has any old overalls or long sleeved shirts which are not required, could they let Mrs Briggs know as she could use them in the Art Department.

JUNIOR SCHOOL

Please could all children in the Junior department bring a waterproof coat to school each day during the summer term, regardless of the weather.

PARK SCHOOL PROM

The Park School Prom is being held at The Manor Hotel on Friday June 22^nd 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.  The cost is £15, with an initial deposit of £10 due by Friday 18^th May to secure your ticket.  Monies must be given to Mrs McLaughlin ONLY in a sealed, named envelope and you will receive a receipt.  A ticket will be given when the whole £15 has been paid.  This event is for Years 10, 11, 12 & 13.

FORENSIC SCIENCE – TWO DAY EVENT

The University of Warwick is holding this two-day event on Thursday 5^th – Friday 6^th July and I would like to arrange a visit for Years 11, 12 & 13 during the school activity week.  Students who have expressed interest have already taken a leaflet from myself - more are available.  Items on the agenda include Nature v Nurture, Crime Scene Investigation, Offender Profiling and much more.  This will be of special interest to students taking Science and/or Psychology at 'A' Level (or even general interest, as we don't often get the opportunity to walk through a crime scene!).  'A' Level students at The Park School study The Psychology of Crime and they will be attending, as it will make what they have already learnt more real and 'come to life'.  The total cost of the event is £85 and to secure a place, a deposit of £20  is required by May 15^th.  The final amount of £65 (for the event) is due on June 5^th.  Transport will be by minibus and the cost of this has yet to be confirmed.
