FORENSIC SCIENCE TWO DAY EVENT The University of Warwick is holding this two-day event on Thursday 5th Friday 6th July and I would like to arrange a visit for Years 11, 12 & 13 during the school activity week. Students who have expressed interest have already taken a leaflet from myself - more are available. Items on the agenda include Nature v Nurture, Crime Scene Investigation, Offender Profiling and much more. This will be of special interest to students taking Science and/or Psychology at 'A' Level (or even general interest, as we don't often get the opportunity to walk through a crime scene!). 'A' Level students at The Park School study The Psychology of Crime and they will be attending, as it will make what they have already learnt more real and 'come to life'. The total cost of the event is £85 and to secure a place, a deposit of £20 is required by May 15th. The final amount of £65 (for the event) is due on June 5th. Transport will be by minibus and the cost of this has yet to be confirmed. C McLaughlin

VISIT TO WALES Last weekend, ten Year 10 students, after a gruelling day at school, leapt onto the minibus with Mrs Shillito and Mr Newbury to go to Wales. Our Youth Hostel was near Snowdonia, but all the road signs seemed to be written in Welsh, so I am not entirely sure where we were! The hotel was really comfortable and the food was lovely. The scenery was quite spectacular, particularly the lake in which we swam. The first thing we visited was a Victorian village where there was an array of little shops filled with ornaments and all the people were dressed in authentic clothes. My group made a tremendous raft on the second day, out of barrels, wood and rope. We also managed a very long walk, although this was hard as we are not as fit as we thought! We arrived back at school on Monday, tired, but we all agreed we had had a fantastic few days away. Thank you to Mrs Shillito and Mr Newbery for taking us. Lottie Scannell Yr 10N
TWELFTH NIGHT REHEARSAL There will be a rehearsal every Thursday from 4 6 in the Drama Studio. Mrs Scannell
