As we have several nationalities represented in school, children from non-European countries also contributed to the day. Countries represented included Italy, Malaysia, Pakistan, India and Russia.

It ends on 28th May. Do pay the Library a visit and enjoy this further opportunity to see the high standards of work that the children have attained.

SCOUTS AND GIRL GUIDES Luke Brickley (8G) has been selected to go to the 4-yearly World Scout Jamboree in Sweden in July 2011. This is quite a considerable achievement as he was one of 17 selected out of 57 in the Yeovil area. Lucy Turner (8G) is also doing well and is aiming to achieve the highest award in Girl Guides, the Baden Powell Challenge. Both pupils need too raise money for their challenges, and to that end, 8G will be holding a cake sale next Thursday and the Thursday after half-term. Thank you in advance to 8G for your cakes, and may I encourage you all to come and buy them, and support Luke and Lucy in the process. The cake sale will be in Mr Winter's room. Mrs T Gordon
SPORTS REPORT WEEK ENDING 21st May Wednesday 19th May u13 pairs Cricket 'v' Thornlow Prep For this match we played pairs, (where each pair bowls and then bats as a pair). The most accurate bowler being George Mennell. When it was our turn to bat we did not score quite as many as Thornlow and they were victorious. Player of the match – George Mennell
Thursday 20th May u14 Cricket 'v' Ansford We won the toss and put our opponents into bat. They proved to be rather strong and scored frequently. In his first over Edward Pratt, found them too confident and struck with his second ball. This, however, proved to be our only wicket and after the interval we had to chase 137. We opened steadily, but our strike rate was slow and their bowling was strong. – Player of the match – Joseph Brown.
Fixtures next week are Monday 24th May u13 Cricket, Tuesday 25th May South West ISA Athletics, Wednesday 26th May u11 Cricket, u13 Rounders, South Somerset Athletics. All pupils selected for representative matches must travel in a school tracksuit and wear the correct match strip; long trousers and white shirts are compulsory for cricket. Black shorts for boys continue to be available from the uniform shop, as do black skirts for girls and the latter item has the school sports logo on it.
Any queries regarding fixtures should be directed to Mr Tulett – PE Office 01963 414613 or by email to larry.tulett@parkschool.com
