WELCOME RECEPTION

All parents and staff are invited to attend a welcome reception for the new Headteacher,

Mrs Jane Huntington, on Tuesday, 13th July at 6pm in the Head's Office and the Redwood Room.

 

YEAR 10 BTEC SPORT

Students studying in the subject were issued with their cardio respiratory systems assignment on Tuesday 8th June.  The following deadlines apply.

Draft 1 due Tuesday 22nd June

Draft 2 due Tuesday 14th July

Draft 3 due Friday 10th September

Assignment closes Friday 24th September regardless of Level attained at that time.

 

PROMPT SETTLEMENT DISCOUNT

Thank you to all those parents who settled their summer fees on the first day of term and who accordingly were entitled to deduct the 1% prompt settlement discount.

 

All cheques and online payments received after the first day of the Autumn Term (Tuesday, 7th September) should not have the discount deducted.

 

For those parents who choose to pay by online banking it is important to authorise payment not less that 4 complete working days before the start of term, ie., to be sent by Wednesday,

1st September to arrive in the school's bank account by Tuesday, 7th  September  in order to qualify for the discount.

Online payments must quote the pupil/parent code as shown on your invoice.

JUNIOR JOURNAL

KS1 Star Charts

Congratulations to Georgina Rushworth, Harriet Woods, George Taylor, Poppy Phillips, Will Gregory and Sophie Bradford-Peck for completing their KS1 Star chart this week.

 

Tea with the Teacher

Parents of Junior children are invited to afternoon tea with their child's teacher for September. This will be an opportunity to meet informally and chat about next year's work or address any concerns. Times and days are as follows:

School Sports Day

This year's All-School sports day was held on Wednesday. Juniors and seniors competed together for the honour of their houses. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all! Thank you to all those who came to support the athletes.

 

 

What's a-growing

The Early Years Garden continues to burst into life. Flowers are starting to appear on the 'butterfly mix' and we hope this will soon attract new wildlife to the playground. KS1 have done a brilliant job in keeping the tubs watered throughout the very hot weather.

 

End of Term Party

An end of term party has been organised for the children of the Junior Department on Friday 9th July from 6-00pm to 8-00pm. Tickets cost £5-00 on the door and this will include food, drinks, disco and games.

 

 

Mufti Day

An all school mufti day has been arranged for Friday 9th July to raise funds for 'Water Aid'.

 

LAST DAY OF TERM AND LATE ROOM

School finishes Friday, 16th July at

12 noon.  Children should be collected at 12.  There are no lunches available and there will be no Late Room on the day.

FENCING

Fencing lessons for next term will be held on Thursdays at 4.15pm in the school hall.  The first lesson is being held on Thursday, 16th September, 2010.

 

JUNIOR PARTY

There will be a Junior End of Term Party on Friday, 9th July in the school hall from 6pm until 8pm.  As well as a disco there will be party games and party style finger food for the children to enjoy.  The event will cost £5 with tickets on sale on the door.  All years from the Junior School (Kindergarten to Year 6) are welcome to attend.

 

UK MATHS CHALLENGE

We have been celebrating the achievements of some of our mathematicians in Years 7 and 8.  Congratulations to Harrison Hollins in Year 8 for best performance in the school and for his silver award.  Other successes in Year 8 include Jonathan Green, Emily Bentham, Kyle Murray, Olive Holliday, Tabitha Ross-Kent and

Joshua Newell.  The challenge in Year 7 is all the more difficult so extra congratulations to

Alex Howes, Toby Finch-Hatton,

Ellie Cunningham and Luke Humphreys.
