TIMES BOOKS FOR SCHOOL

We are currently part of a great collection scheme that could provide us with hundreds of new books for the school library, and by collecting the special tokens printed in The Times and The Sunday Times, you can help claim dozens of free books.  Autumn term tokens will be available from 13th September to 6th December with four tokens in The Sunday Times News Review, three tokens in The Times on Saturday and one taken each day in Times from Monday to Friday.

Please collect as many tokens as you can and give them to your child to bring to school, marked for the attention of Miss Williams.

Many thanks, in advance, for your support.

Miss Willams (Year 4)

Fixtures for the week after half-term are:-

Wednesday u13 Hockey, Thursday u14 Football, Thursday u15 Football, Friday u14 Hockey.

Reports for this week:-

Monday u13 Football 'v' Chilton Cantelo

Those that did play worked extremely hard to keep the score down and we only lost 2-0.  Player of the match – Harrison Hollins.

Tuesday, u16 Hockey 'v' Whitstone

Our strength showed immediately and we had a goal inside the first minute; after which we continued to dominate and won 7-0,  Abigail Chesterman in our goal was not required to touch the ball at all.  Player of the match – Alice Barnett.

Wednesday u13 Hockey 'v' Stanchester

Our youngsters were on fire today  and completely dominated this game to the extent that our full backs as well as the goal kepper did not touch the ball at all.  We won 7-0.  Player of the match – Ruth Butcher.

Wednesday, u13 Hockey 'v' Bucklers Mead

With only a few minutes rest after the previous game our opponents caught our girls asleep and scored after only two minutes.  This resulted in a complete wake up call and we hit back immediately;  Bucklers weathered the storm and at half time we had just managed one more for a slender 2-1 lead.  In the second period Ruth organised her team into a complete rampage and they struck 4 more for a 6-1 win.  Player of the match – Bella Foot.

Thursday u15 Football 'v' Sherborne International.

For the first 5 minutes we were all over our opposition hitting the bar and post as well as winning a penalty.  Alas no goal, even the penalty was missed and by half time we were 2-0 down.  The second half started poorly and we conceded another; with 7 minutes to go we were trailing

3-0.  Then out of the blue a golden spell;  Ben Cheng hit a hat trick and we drew 3-3.  Player of the match – Michael Chan.

All pupils selected for representative matches must travel in a school tracksuit and wear the correct match strip; shin pads are compulsory for football and hockey; mouth guards are also strongly recommended for hockey.  Black shorts for boys continue to be available from the Uniform Shop, as do black skirts for girls and the latter item has the school sports logo on it.

Any queries regarding fixtures should be directed to Mr Tulett, PE Office by e-mail to larry.tulett@parkschool.com
