Year 8 pupils visit art exhibition

24th November 2006

On Wednesday 11th & Friday 13th October year 8 pupils from The Park School visited the 'face to face' exhibition at Sherborne House. The exhibition consisted of an eclectic look at portraiture spanning 250 years. Pupils were able to see work from Joshua Reynolds, Henri Matisse & David Hockney, amongst many others. One of their favourite exhibits was a large screen print of Dennis the Menace, which the pupils enjoyed studying alongside some of the older pieces. The students were then taken to view the famous staircase mural by Sir James Thornhill, which was very impressive. All the students said they had really enjoyed the visit, and had leant a great deal about portraits.
