Year 8 Activity Day

8th February 2008

Year 8 pupils have just returned from a thrilling day at the PGL Activity Centre, Osmington Bay, Weymouth. Pupils took part in three activities including quad biking around a track of which some of them were very skilled and others found more difficult. Zip wire that included a terrifying climb to the top of a long post before descending from a very small platform on a windy morning.

Ben Gomez takes to the air on the zip wire!

There were some very brave pupils who overcame much apprehension including Mr Evans and Mrs Briggs (who had organised the event), the latter two in particular showed great courage!  Many climbed the pole quite high and achieved a great sense of personal  achievement from the experience. In the afternoon pupils worked together as a team to pull up a giant swing holding two pupils at a time, some were very adventurous and went from great heights, creating a huge drop.  An exhilarating experience for those that were brave enough!

This event was voted a favourite by all and they had tremendous fun, while developing team building skills. The day was a great success and very worthwhile while the setting on the cliffs was magnificent and it didn't rain once!
