u11 Area Cup Netball
14th February 2007On Wednesday 14th February we played the first round in the South Somerset Primary Schools Netball Cup away at Milford Primary. Despite going very quickly 3-0 down our team played fantastically well and Areen Mahmood and Matilda Tulett in defence denied Milford any further scoring opportunities. So by the end of the first quarter we had turned the game around to lead- 5-3. It was very even in the second period and by half time we had just managed to extend our lead to 6-3. The third quarter remained fairly even throughout, but with Eloise Lisle and Ruth Butcher alternating at wing defence and Kirby Mullis our capatin controlling the centre we edged further ahead to 9-6. In the final period the super feeding of Matthew Lingard kept our shooters, Hannah Rees and Yasmin Andrews-Urvoy in plentiful supply of the ball, which they utilised well bringing us to a 13-7 victory. We now proceed into the quarter finals. Well done all our players.
