TAUNUSSTEIN EXCHANGE – 2008/09

Over the half-term holiday thirteen pupils from years 8 – 12, accompanied by Mr Winter and Mrs Gordon, spent a week in Germany with their exchange partners from our partner school, the Gesamtschule Obere Aar in Yeovil's twin town of Taunusstein near Frankfurt. 

This was the sixth such trip and as ever, we enjoyed wonderful hospitality from our German hosts.  Our students took part in a number of lessons, spent a day visiting the historic city of Mainz and enjoyed a weekend with their partners' families. 


One highlight was a language quiz activity around Wiesbaden, during which many enthusiastically took advantage of the opportunity to practise their German in asking for the whereabouts of the Gummibaren (gum bears) sweet shop and even witnessing the arrival of the German Federal President on an official visit to the city.







We look forward very much to the return visit of our friends from Taunusstein from 16th to 23rd March 2009.
