School For Champions
5th December 2007SCHOOL FOR CHAMPIONS
We are proud to announce that we have in school at the present time 4 National Champions, namely Sam Ashdown (Year 11), Tobias Finch-Hatton (Year 5), Emily Wilson and Hannah Forrest (Year 11).
Back: Sam, middle left to right Hannah, Emily, Front Tobias.
Sam competes with the National Field Archery Society and has been National Champion in field archery, winning the Under 16 title five times.
Tobias competes with the International Taekwond-do Federation and very recently became National Champion in the Under 13's for Pattern Movements. This is quite a feat for a pupil who is only in Year 5.
Emily loves her swimming and has represented the school on many occasions. She practices six times a week, which shows real dedication. Emily was delighted to win the 100m backstroke for the Under 20 event last month at the national finals held in Coventry and became an Independent Schools Association (ISA) National Champion. Emily also received bronze medals for coming third in front crawl and medley relays.
Hannah likewise loves her sport, which is athletics. She has also represented the school at many events. Last Summer she became the ISA National Champion in the 100m and 300m events, and like Emily was competing against older girls in the Under 19 races.
