KS3 Success for Year 9

10th July 2007

The end of Key Stage 3 assessment test results in Mathematics and Science were published this week and The Park is once again celebrating yet another outstanding set of grades.  The Government has an expectation that every pupil in Year 9 will attain at least a level 5.  This was achieved by 95% and 88% of the pupils in Mathematics and Science respectively.  The highest award pupils can attain is level 8 in Mathematics and level 7 in Science.  We are delighted to announce that 17% of the year achieved level in 8 in Mathematics and 31% of pupils gained a level 7 in Science.  The numbers of pupils gaining levels 6-7 in Science and levels 6-8 in Mathematics were 69% and 80% in Mathematics.

Head Of Science Mrs K. Hopkinson amongst some of the pupils who achieved level 7: left to right - Emma Gould, Ben Woods, Daisy Denny-Higgins, Phoebe Roper, Laurence Zanelli, Jack Pool, Sophie Mitchell, Sophia Kwong.

This is an excellent end of year fillip for Year 9.  They deserve our congratulations for working so hard in order to achieve this high level of success and the staff are looking forward to helping them achieve equally highly in their GCSE courses beginning next term.  Many congratulations to their dedicated teachers too!
