Inter-House Art Competition
29th June 2007Junior and Senior pupils from the four houses across the school created art work in a range of media, including mosaic, collage, 3D, drawing and painting. The theme for the competition was 'My Favourite Things'. Peter Hailey, a local artist and former Art Teacher judged the competition.
The winners of the competition were:
Juniors:
Aareen Mahmood (Slessor)
Dominic Stevens (Livingstone)
Edward Pratt (Shaftesbury)
Seniors:
James Antell (Shaftesbury)
Thai Lepuri (Livingstone)
Catherine Hood (Ashley)
After all the points were added up, the final results were:-
1st - Shaftesbury - 13 points
2nd - Slessor & Livingstone (tied) - 10 points each
3rd - Ashley - 3 points.
Peter Hailey was very impressed with the creativity and diversity of the work; he presented the prizes in main school assembly, giving reasons why he had chosen the particular pieces. Congratulations to the winners and to all who took part, and a big thank you to Mrs A. Briggs, Head of Art, who organised it all.
