Hannah returns to winning ways
12th May 2008Having missed the entire winter cross-country season because of illness Hannah Forrest returned to winning ways at the Somerset AA Athletics championships on Saturday. In her first event of the season Hannah opened the year with victory in the 100m as she exploded away from the start line, passing her opponents in the first 10 metres, gaining a lead that never looked like being in danger. The process was repeated a few hours later as Hannah flew out of the blocks and stormed around the bend in the 200m leaving her opponents in her wake to take her second County Championship title in one day. In support Abigail Chesterman won Silver for 2nd place in the Discus, a super result in her first attempt at this event. Both girls are shown below.

Hannah and Abigail proudly display their medals.
Philip Bridge placed 4th in both 100m and long jump and Freyia Crawford was 6th in the final of the 100m. Also competing were Simon Chesterman in the Shot and Ben and Joe Gomez in the 100m.
