Christmas Card Competition
27th November 2009
We all love receiving Christmas cards, and this year the chance of receiving a Christian Christmas card in Yeovil, and elsewhere, has increased as a result of a competition organised by Mrs Briggs, our Head of Art. She asked pupils for their designs on A4 paper, with a brief to celebrate the Christmas story from a Christian perspective. First prize in the Year 5-6 category: Wise Men follow the star by Francesco Medici.

There were four age categories spanning from Years 5 to 9, which allowed pupils in our Junior Department to enter as well as pupils from the Senior Department. The most popular designs were decided by votes from pupils, staff and parents, and the top three pupils in each category have been awarded prizes.
First prize in the Year 7&8 category: The Donkey, the stable and the Star of David by Ellie Cunningham.
The 4 winning designs will now be printed onto card and sold in packs of 10 for £4.50 and from each pack sold, 50p will be going towards supporting the work of one of our former Head Girls, Rebecca Young, who is presently working with street children in Daar-es-Saleem in Tanzania.
We hope you will either purchase or receive one of these special Christmas cards. Happy Christmas everyone!Equal First Prize in Senior Department category: Angels look down on the stable by Ellen Bazley.

Equal First Prize in the Senior category: Angel with a halo by Kirby Mullis.
