BTEC NATIONAL SPORT AT THE PARK
The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma offers an engaging programme for those who are clear about the area of employment that they wish to enter.
The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the optional units. It is broadly equivalent to on GCE A Level.
Students are required to study three mandatory core units, one mandatory specialist unit and three optional units.
In BTEC Nationals all units are internally assessed. All assessment for BTEC Nationals is criterion referenced, based on the achievement of specialist learning outcomes. Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment and grading criteria which are to be used for grading purposes. A summative unit grade can be awarded at pass, merit or distinction.

Unit 1: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology
Unit 2: The Physiology of Fitness
Unit 3: Assessing Risk in Sport
Unit 4: Fitness Training and Programming
Unit 8: Practical Team Sports *
Unit 9: Practical Individual Sports *
Unit 11: Sports Nutrition
Unit 15: Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise
*Candidates may only study one of these two units
