Religious studies/Philosophy & ethics
6th Form
The Sixth Form Philosophy and Ethics pupils are prompted to challenge their beliefs and those of their fellow peers, and are given the stage to thrash out the contentious issues that many others fear to discuss.
Pupils consider the opinions of philosophers and ethicists of past and present and develop the critical thinking skills that will propel them forward in their future careers. Many of the topics taught in Year 10 are dealt with in more depth, with pupils engaging in debates and discussions.
Pupils have the opportunity to go to external debates and listen to key speakers with input from philosophers and MP’s, discussing the ethical and moral issues of modern day life.
