Food Technology

AS Level Food Technology consists of a project (50%) and a terminal examination (50%) which is taken in June. It includes food science, the functions of food materials, industrial production, marketing and product development. There is an emphasis on the practical development of a design solution within the project.

A2 Level Food Technology consists of 50% project, and 50% terminal examination. It features a greater depth of study in all the areas covered at AS level. Each part of the AS and A2 contributes 25% to the total A level mark. The project is an student led investigation and problem solving exercise with an emphasis on practical skills.

We work in partnership with the Science department to deliver the curriculum in a relevant and exciting way At AS and A2 level.
