Year 8 writers delight the Junior classes with their stories

Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed a real treat when members of Year 8 came over to join them for a special English lesson.
The older pupils had prepared some original engaging stories, pitched perfectly to suit these age-groups. There were a wide variety of themes to stimulate their imaginations, and suit all interests including tales of princesses, elves, animal stories, a monkey island and many more.
The Juniors proved to be a keen and enthusiastic audience. They listened carefully and were able to answer quite a lot of the questions that were posed to them at the end of each of the readings.
Here are some extracts from the thank you letters sent by the children after the session.
" I liked it when James said 'The bonga bonga tree' – that's just funny and weird at the same time!' "The ending was awesome!" (Aditya)
"I liked 'Escape from Monkey Island', because of the monkey who bit the man in the story." (Christian)
"Grace's story was really cool because the pictures were really amazing" (Kerryn)
Georgia's story was really good and I like the questions because Callum was helping me and Megan" (Abbie)
The activity proved to be very successful and we hope to do this again on another occasion.
Well done to all those who took part in Year 8, and thank you to the junior students for being such good listeners.
Mrs. T. Gordon and Mr. T. Winter.
