Chinese New Year
The children in the Early Years and Infant classes enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year on Friday.

Under the watchful eyes of Mrs Ennals, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Smith, they spent the morning preparing a fabulous stir fry that filled the air with an enticing aroma that made the junior children feel very hungry, and rather envious.
All the children had a go at chopping the chicken and vegetables, adding them to the wok and then stirring the mix as it cooked. As well as enjoying the preparation, the children also enjoyed the science lesson that Mrs Ennals included as the children cooked. They learnt about the changes that take place as food is cooked, what steam is, and how heat changes the way foods look and taste.
As with all cookery, the very best part was tasting the end result, and everyone had a traditional red bowl with some stir-fried chicken, vegetables and noodles to try, some even had a go at using chopsticks, with varying success!
