Christmas Cake Cooks

The smell of home cooking has again permeated the early years department over the past few weeks, bringing a festive aroma to the school, as the children have been very busy making, baking and decorating their very own Christmas cakes.

Under the watchful eyes of Mrs Ennals, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Smith, the children from Kindergarten and Reception have enjoyed weighing the ingredients out and mixing the cake mixture by hand, before being baked. In the last few days they have been working hard to add the marzipan, icing and decorations, as well as sewing by hand the cake frills to complete the cakes. The finished cakes were very professionally presented, and have been taken home to be enjoyed on Christmas Day.
