u14 Football

Monday, 8th February 2010

u14 Football 'v' Chilton Cantelo 'B' away - Return approximately 4:00pm.

TEAM:

Joseph Brown, Luke Corner, Marcus Fudge, Alexander Gurd, Robert Sankey, Harry Yeoman, Philip Bridge, Robert Howes(c), Luca Lepuri, Elliot Mellis, Joseph Mortimore, Edward Pratt.

With several boys deciding they did not want to play we had to hastily readjust our team, this led to silly early mistakes at the back and Chilton slipped in for a realatively soft goal.  Fortunately we rallied and steadied and a well taken opportunity found us level.  Another silly mistake and the ball was certainly goining into the top corner when Marcus stuck out his hand.  A penalty was awarded and lucky Marcus was allowed to remain on the field.  Chilton missed the penalty and we made a qick break to score again.  So at half time we had a 2-1 lead.  Play remained even in the second period and pressure from us forced Chilton to bring Luke down in the box and so a penalty for us.  This time Robert missed it and we came under counter attack.  Our defence held strong and we managed another goal, so at full time, rather against the run of play we came away with a 3-1 win.  Player of the match - Robert Howes.
